Attorney Charles H. Staples is in his 34th year in the practice of civil law. He has been associated with the Faith in the Law practice group for six years. Mr. Staples is a former Associate Circuit Judge , while in Missouri, and  he served a term as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, where he won 19 of 20 criminal felony trials.

Mr. Staples, is the married father of three children and four "Children of the Heart" (step-children), and he knows intimately the challenges of nurturing the "Blended Family." . He is at the same time  a playmate ,  a mentor and  a disciplinarian to his eight grandchildren. His experience in helping to raise six teenagers, plus his years as a Managing Attorney in a local legal aid program make Atorney Staples an effective and compassionate Family Law Attorney in child custody, divorce and child support cases.

An avid sailor, Mr. Staples came to Hampton Roads to pursue a 12- year dream of resurrecting his father's sailing yacht from years of neglect, to bring it from the Virgin Islands to Hampton Roads, to be used for a youth mentorship program called "ESCAPE."

He is also a Documentary Videographer, with a Master's degree from the Regent University film program. He has done projects for churches and ministry organizations in Benin, West Africa, Ghana, Belize, South Africa, and India.

Mr. Staples' varied experiences in the law include being outside counsel to some of America's Fortune 500 companies such as Ford Motor Company and  General Motors Corp.

Attorney Staples is a Born-Again Christian, who credits God for healing him of two incurable, inoperable cancers in six years. He has been cancer-free since 2001, and knows that every day is a gift from God.  " I am God's lawyer, because my "Time Card" was punched".  "I am on his time, and working on his agenda. God has me now helping abused and neglected children, and helping families in crisis".

Charles Staples is the author of a book about his experience with these supposedly fatal diagnoses, entitled: Cancer Ain't Nothing but a Pimple ta God", published by Xulon Press, in conjunction with Triune God Ministries, LLC.
